Going to be lazy here. Any shrimp recommendations?

I want a shrimp. It can't get more than 2" long. I'm betting not many fit this description.

This tank will be mostly gobies/blennies. I plan on a pom-pom and a decorator crab WAY down the road once I have LED lighting.

What shrimp will fit into this arrangement?

And, I guess if I wanted the shrimp enough I'd be willing to accept up to 3"

Skunk cleaners are typically the ones that are out and about most often. Mine used to clean my arms/hands when I had them in the tank for maintenence.

if you are gettign gobies, find a goby/pistol shrimp combo, it is such a cool thing to watch. i got an orange spotted goby and striped pistol shrimp from inland aquatics and this little shrimp is one helluva bulldozer...he has several burrows all over the place and he's only been in the tank a week. the little goby does a good job as sentry, whenever my blue-eyed Anthias comes over he stretches his mouth out real wide and the anthias keeps on swimming. its a very cool relationship to watch, however the shrimp is so small it stays hidden most of the time. so far i see it mostly at night towards the end of thwe light cycle, he's a very efficient bulldozer
otherwise i say a cleaner shrimp...also another cool thing to watch, i put a cleaner in a few days ago and within an hour my starry blenny perched himself by the shrimp and the cleaner went to town picking over the blenny, even iside his mouth...very cool to see

Thank you!

I don't think a peppermint is a good idea, it may mistake my tiny feather duster worms for aiptasia, and I'm kind of attached to them.

Hmmm... maybe a blood cleaner shrimp, a spotted and a Penderson would be a good start. Depending on whether or not I can find them.

Saw Harlequins and thought they were cool right up to the point where I read they feed solely on starfish. ):

Fire shrimp are gorgeous and easy, but shy. Skunk cleaner shrimp will be right out in the open- got another one because my anthias were lining up like at a car wash for the cleanings. Bit of a pig though for stealing food from the corals you just carefully target fed.

Cleaner shrimps are a must IMO, very beneficial and not shy like others.
Fire's seem to hide too often, and just not a fan of peps at all.

Ah, the fire shrimp and blood shrimp are one in the same. I don't mind shy. Most of my fish will be shy.

best choice hands down!

Tip: get two and they'll produce zooplankton

I agree with Adrienne's recommendation. In the wild, while diving, I have had them clean my teeth. Also, some fish love being cleaned (e.g. anthias) while others will not allow it (e.g. clownfish)

Blue Coral Banded Shrimp 1 1/2" -- had one before, it hung with my 7" Diamond Watchman goby and a 2" red-headed goby (they all shared a burrow), even cleaned the Watchman.

Gold Coral Banded Shrimp 2"

Red Banded Pistol Shrimp 2" -- have one of these now. Hasn't paired with either goby so far and usually just see a claw come out & grab food at feeding time.

do they change sex so that they can always reproduce if you have two?

If not, how to tell male from female?

I have three sexy shrimp and at least one is always out to be viewed. I have had them for seven months and have never had any problems with them. The only trouble I have had is I have never seen either of the two girls pregnant even though I have always had a boy (the second girl came later,) though a few days ago I think I saw a baby sexy shrimp with all the adults accounted for but have not seen it since.
