What should turn over rate?
I have a 75 gal with built in center over flow and 15 gal sump I feel my turn over is to slow I use a 700 gph return pump but the nozzle that returns the water to display really slows the flow should I remove it

Slow works. Fast works too. As long as it's working... Check this out.

remember head loss, factor in how much gph will be lost on the return from you sump to the display. Depending how far away that area is will make a difference in how much gph you are actually getting on your return. You can use the head loss calculator on the home page of this forum

oh... forgot to say. 3-4 times your total water volume in gph flow works good. at least for me. more bio load = more flow. but then you need as much skimmer flow as your return pump... well not set in stone but good rule of thumb

And I think it's better to use plastic tubing than PVC to cut down on the turns. I believe you lose some flow the more 90 degree angle PVC you have.
