juvenile fish

do juvenile fish hide more?

i am just wondering i do not have a porblem. i just have noticed some juv fish hiding more than the adults at fish stores and places and i was just wondering if they do.

Smaller fish are generally less secure, but it may be a species issue too. For example, a clown pair will dominate a tank and the rest of the clowns will both grow less and be in hiding. On the other hand, in a LFS tank, anything kinda goes.

Also, larger (and more expensive) fish may be at the LFS longer---making them bolder. Bold fish will encourage other fish to join the group too.
