Sand to Aragonite ... any ideas
Ok we have had our tank setup for almost a year and I have about a 2" sand bed in our 180. There is still sand particles that float around the tank and even with the filter floss the particles are still in the tank and it makes the tank look terrible. So i want to switch to aragonite. I was told to rinse it extremely well and then add one 40lb bag to the tank. Let it sit a week or so and then take out some of the sand. This way the bacteria etc will transfer to the Aragonite and I will not have to cycle it before adding to the tank. After another week or so add the second bag and do the same thing but siphoning out some of the sand. Is this true or should I cycle it? If so how long before I can add it?

Good plan but I would suggest adding about 5-10 pounds of good quality Live sand to the bed to help seed the base aragonite. It will get that tank up and running faster.
