Jumping fish... safer in a "Tall" tank?

I have a 50T and was wondering if anyone had experiences with tall tanks in regards to fish jumping out of them. I get the impression it's less likely to happen but I wanted some input. Was looking at getting a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse as my last fish but I'm reading that it's a jumper. BTW I have a midas blenny which jumped like crazy when I was acclimating it but it hasn't jumped once in my 50T.

I just loss my McCosker's to Carpet Surfing!!
They are Amazing Fish!! and plan to get another.. but not until after I get my 1/4in mesh netting!!! (just ordered today!!)
so yes.. you still need a lid for them!!
its always better to be safe than sorry anyways

and no.. I don't have a tall tank.. but McCosker's Love to swim and Show off.. especially to their own reflection!!
so it would only need the slightest spook, or to see his reflection in the top, or to grab that piece of food he swears he sees!!

I asked this same question a couple of months ago. I thought that with a 46" tall tank I wouldnt have to worry about fish jumping but I decided it was better to be safe than sorry. I will add a cover before buying any jumpers.

screening...no matter how tall!

Some of these 'boneheads' get so excited at feeding time that they jump out by accident, when I remove the netting!

A jumper is a jumper doesn't matter how tall the tank is.
Bulk reef supply sells clear netting and you can buy a screen making kit at home depot.

If a fish swims near the top of the tank, do you really think it would matter if it was a few inches (or even a few feet) taller?

Yep. My 110 Tall (30") couldn't stop a Starry Blenny.

Might even be worse. If it's taller they can get up a bigger head of steam before they get to the surface.

The ocean is even deeper than a tall tank and they jump there too!
