aluminum foil fell in tank
a small piece of heavy duty renyolds aluminum foil fell into my tank and i cant get to it, is this going to be a problem? it is a 3x3 in piece and i have a 75 gal mixed reef. help please.

Shouldn't cause a problem, but I would still try to get it out.

I would try and get it out. Try bending a clothes hanger... poke through the foil and pull it out.

you'll be fine for at least a while. I had an aluminium rod in my tank for few months.

No. Not even worst case scenario if you never get it out. The aluminum will eventually oxidize, but nothing toxic will come of it. There are phosphate removers that are made of oxidized aluminum.

Disc 1. Thank you for that info. Sometimes when I am mixing my fish food cocktail some alluminum gets in the mix. I did not know that some phosphate removers are made of alluminum. Again thanks for the info.

People that keep soft corals have seen bad effects using the aluminum phosphate binders. So I wouldn't say there is nothing to worry about but it likely won't kill fish.
