flow

I am wantint to setup a 48L x 24W x 18H 90 gallon shallow tank. So for flow, I was wondering If I can get away with 1 mp10w es and an mp40w es, Corals would be lps, clams, anenome, and softies.

I think you'll be fine with that setup. Along with the return, I think the two vortechs will give you enough random flow for what you are wanting to keep coral wise.

If you can swing 2 40's go for it as you can dial them back if needed. However for a tank with your dimensions I think you're good.

If anything you may just want to add a small Tunze or Koralia to the mix down the road.

Yeah, if you can swing it go with 2 MP40's. I have an MP40 and an MP10 in a 30"x30" tank. If it were any bigger I would definitely want another MP40 instead of the MP10.

What size is your sump? 1000gph is a fair amount of turnover. You could drop that to 500-600 and make up for it with the extra MP40 and gain a little efficiency in both electricity/flow and ability of your filtration system to process waste.

12" is not much space to push 1000gph. You might have issues keeping bubbles out of the return. Depending on how your stand is built, you might be able to fit a 40 breeder under that tank which would be a little better suited to that flow.

I could fit a 40 breeder, only problem is, The skimmer I have maxes out at 125, so Thats why 30 is the sump I planned. Maybe a 30 breeder?

Id still use the 40 for the height. The skimmer shouldn't be an issue with the bigger sump, but the extra height will be nice.
