New to Radium bulbs have ?

Just bought a Galaxy (select-a-watt), Lumen Max Elite and a HRI-T Radium 250 bulb. What do I run the Ballast on 250 or HQI?

Also their was no glass with the fixture? Do I need to get one?

I have it hung about 18" over a 40b then was going to lower it a bit over the next few weeks. Does this sound right?

Plan on running this for 6 hours a day with no supplement?

Thanks

SE bulbs have the glass built it, so a second piece of glass isn't required (unless you need it for splash guard reasons).

250w will work and be slightly bluer with less PAR. HQI would be to spec.

The issue with that setup is the fact the elite is a pretty focused light (not spread), so you might have issues covering a full 3' 40b without it mounted pretty high. That being said, that bulb/ballast combo is pretty powerful PAR wise, so hanging it high really shouldn't be that big of an issue.
