chromis issue
Hey everyone, recently I bought a 3 Chromis to add to my tank. Today I found one of them dead with large gashes in it vertically and another with a gash that was still alive. I don't understand where this is coming from. I have a Clown, Damsel, Yellow tang, Peppermint shrimp, and a Brittle sea star. Any insight on what may be the problem here? Thanks in advance for any help.

clowns are in the damsel family and both are very agressive, damsels, if added at all should be one of the last fish added. i suspect aggression from the clown and damsel

Gash could be from the scalpels of the tang.

Damsels are very aggressive and require lots of space and hideouts ( caves , overhangs , ect.. ) as do all fish and will fight for the best spots. In a smaller or overstocked tank removing any competition means easier times. Im sure they fought each other with the strongest surviving...

I tried 3 times with my old 75 to get 3 chromis together. All three times the strongest one killed the other two then died from the wounds he got fighting them. Did cardinals in the new tank and couldn't be happier about it.
