LED addition to jbj 28 gal hqi questions
hey guys,
i have the 28 gal jbj hqi nano cube. i love the tank and the lighting, but i really want to have more blue lighting in addition to the hqi 14k bulb i have. i was going to go with the nanotuners compact actinic upgrade until i learned they are discontinuing the product. so the only option i believe i have is to install LED's into the hood. now the question i have is if anyone has tried this before and if so where did u install the LED's at? looking at my hood this morning i noticed there is ample room to put some in but i dont know if i should put them on the reflector where the hqi bulb is or not. my concern is the LED's would melt due to the heat put off but the halide bulb. any feedback would b appreciated alot. thanks again ~josh~ |

save the hassle and get an Aqua illumination Sol Blue. A few extra bills, but compared to changing a 50 dollar bulb every 6 months, it saves a pretty good amount of mullah.
