Tech120 Stand w/ 40g Breeder??

Well............

I seem to have an issue. I have a Tech120 stand and have a 40g breeder but it does not fit. The only way for me to get it under the stand is to either cut the back of the the stand or remove the aluminum / metal brace in the front center. The only problem is the metal brace has what appears to be rivets (2 on top and 2 on the bottom). My only real option is to remove the center brace, install the sump and reinstall the brace. Has anyone done this before or have a better idea?

I had to take the top off...same set up.....I don't think you'll get the center brace out. Just did mine a couple months ago. make sure you put that stand back together with all supports. If I had to do it again I would have siliconed all around the inside before I started up the system. Works fine I'm just nervous about water and the materials its made from.
