60W CREE LED Aquarium Light

I have a 125lt cube (33g) 50cmx50cmx50cm (20inchx20inchx20inch) but i don't know what could i use to light it...
What do you think about this:

i have 2 of those lights so far and i love them corals are doing great i still need to buy 2 more for my 220 though i have had them for about 7 months with no problem pluse i went from around 450 watts of power down to 120 with them turned up all the way

And for my tank do you think that one is good to have sps???

on my tank i get about 24 inches of spread but my tank is 31 inches tall worst case you will just need to hang the lights so you can raise them to cover the tank or change out the optics and they will grow sps but i dont have any on the bottom of my tank mine start about half way up but i love these lights

Myself and a friend of mine just bought these lights this week direct from the manufacturer in China. They will ship by Friday and should be here next week.

viper12775, I am glad you like them. I have three 250 MH plus 2 VHO actinics totalling 1080 wattts of light. My hydro bill is high. With these I will be using 180 watts, a 900 watt saving. I hope my corals can still thrive with these fixtures. The PAR is supposed to be quite good on them too.

I have had this light for about 3 months, and so far so good, it is pretty powerful, and I accidently bleached an acan. I have the fixture haning about 6" over a tall 20 gallon (24" x 12"). IME SWC is quality.

So what do you guys think of the color of the lights? I am presently using three 250 watt 10,000K XMs plus 2 VHO actinics and getting a pretty white color. No real blue or yellow tinge to the light at all. Can I achieve that on a 180 with these fixtures? The manufacturer tells me the white LEDs are 9000K.

ari5736, these lights were built in China by EShine Systems. SWC, like a few other North American online stores have purchased their lights from EShine and re-branded them with their name and logo. But if you like their quality that just gives me more confidence that I made the right choice. I can hardly wait for them to get here.

I must admit when I first put these on my tank I wa a little disappointed, but I was coming from 1080 watts of light down to 180 with three fixtures. I have since approached it thinking my old lights were not natural. I have been snorkeling in Hawaii and the Caribbean and you never see light as intense as what I had before the LEDs. These new lights are more in line with what you actually see in nature. If I really want to intensify them I can always buy three more for 360 watts over my tank. At 180 watts for the past three weeks all my corals still seem to be doing fine. Although I had to lower the lights to 50% over my xenia patch because it was burning them down. I have since slowly acclimated them back to 100% and the xenia is growing in. I am sure one of these would be fine over a 20 gallon. You may even have to lower the intensity.

You cannot buy the 60w cree directly from them anymore in the United States. They have a reseller agreement with starkled.com, who prices them at ~$400. OCreef also sells a variation with 2 UV lights added for $430.

There is a thread here titled LED fixture that has A TON of info on the eshinesystems lights as well as a 3+ page discussion on their fixtures..

It is all posted in there by various people.. but I think that eshinesystems was about $50 for 1 unit. The vipinled place charged like $63 for a 60w cree...but they are getting cut off allegedly.

I originally found them on Alibaba as well, but when I contacted them I got E.Shine direct in China. I contacted Robin and he confirmed that people in the US have to go through a reseller. They cannot sell directly to US residents.

60W aquarium light is $155/pc, total cost for 2pcs to USA should be as below:
Total Cost = Cargo Value + Shipping Cost = $155 x 2 + $105 = $415

I think I will order them today.

If you are interested in any of their products I would go read the other thread I linked to, a handful of us have been talking to the reps for the past week.

They just released a controller that controls dimming & dawn/dusk for their 50x3w and 100x3w bridgelux fixtures and they are working on releasing a 90w & 120w cree in addition to a bunch of other stuff.. they seem to put a new fixture out every week.

I am not the greatest aquarium photographer so these pictures may give you an idea of the color/brightness of the lights but they are not exact. You can definitely see the difference in the wood on the tank so please take this into account.

Here is my tank with the original lighting I used to have. 3 X 250 watt MH plus 160 watt VHO super actinics for 1080 watts of light.


Here is the tank with the three 60 watt LEDs, or 180 watts.


And the tank with 180 watt LEDs plus 320 watt actinic supplementation.


And finally the tank with only the blue LEds on.
