Cloudy Water

I have a question about cloudy water. We set up tank yesterday and added everything the shop said we would need. They mentioned it would be cloudy to begin, then overnight it should clear. It hasn't yet, any suggestions?

Yeah, give it a few days. Please take the time to read through the stickies... they are full of valuable info (like cycling a tank).

Thank you. I tested the water and even took some to Petco to have them test and it is fine...so we will see tomorrow.

Could be the sand settling ours took a couple days before clearing up. If you added biopellets sometimes you can get a bacteria bloom, not sure if that happens on a new tank too. Just keep the water circulating and it should all settle out.

if its sand it will settle in 2-3 days. if its bacteria bloom it will take about a week.

No longer have to worry about cloudy water. The tank we bought sprung a big fast leak and I had all 100 gallons flood my livingroom and kitchen, now I am busy cleaning it up and need to try to keep the little damsels alive.
