Red face Old Gregg's 29g Biocube

Hey everyone! I just upgraded my tank to a 29 BioCube a bit over a week ago now. (There was a sweet deal on craigslist) After making a few modifications everything (almost) appears happy after the move.

Here's some pictures and a video. Everything was taken with my cellphone so my apologies for the shoddy quality hehe

Well everything certainly looks happy. Can you list off the mods you did?

Thanks everyone it makes me happy you enjoyed the video I didn't go too crazy with the mods but I'll give you all a list.

- Upgraded stock pump to 900 Maxi Jet. It uses less than half the electricity which saves money in the long run and I noticed a significant difference in water temperature after switching to it. ~1 degrees

- I took of the lid and I'm using LED's. MaxSpect G2. They are absolutely amazing lights! Found them on craigslist for 100$

- I scraped off the black vinyl behind the second chamber and I'm using that as a refugium with Chaeto. For lighting I purchased the JBJ Nano Glo LED Refugium Light. It's LED and is securely fasted with magnets. Great buy!

- Aquatic Life Internal Mini Skimmer 115. From what I've read it has decent reviews and it fits in the first chamber which is ideal because of the consistent water level. It's supposed to be delivered tomorrow. I'm keeping my fingers crossed lol

- 2x 425 Koralia nano's. They take up little space and use 3.5w of power each

-Chemipure Elite and Purigen under the second chamber.

-On top of second chamber is filter floss which pulls out nice gunky crap 24/7. In between chamber 2 and 3 I have a nitrate absorbing sponge. Does it really absorb nitrates? I have no idea but hey why not? It was only a few dollars

Here's a long overdue update on my tanks progress. A few things are still sleepy because I haven't been around in the afternoon to snap higher quality pictures hehe

lol I googled what an Acanthops was and I was thoroughly confused because all I found were some praying mantis type bugs. I'm pretty sure you mean the angelfish though
and thanks!

It's an African Pygmy Angel aka an Ancanthops. I found those lights on craigslist but the blues were burnt out I'm not much of an electrician so I can't fix 'em, but the guy I bought it off of replaced some whites with blue crees. It'd be nice to have the blues to give it more pop. But I think there's ample enough light

The pygmy has been a good girl so far lol. She is always swimming about pecking at the glass and rocks, but she hasn't touched any of the corals as of yet

The clownfish enjoy the taste of blood however.... my blood

Intriguing, I'm debating a flameback angel myself for my own 29 biocube lol. Glad to see she's a model citizen!

Let me know if you get one! They're hit and miss coral killers. But it's worth the risk
