reef crystals vs red sea coral pro
Well, what would you pick? I've been using reef crystals for a year now with good results and growth. But lately, everyone has been talking about red sea coral pro and how amazing it is. Those of you that have switched to rscp, are you glad you made the change? Any noticable results?

I grabbed the new rscp before the craze about 8 months ago and haven't looked back. Reef crystals is good stuff but I've had a very good time with the red sea thus far.

I used to use instant ocean and didn't like my water params at all. Switched to this salt since it was the same price as reef crystals and I LOVE it! mixes clear within minutes! Also my coralline algae was not growing on my dry rocks until I switched. I'm also seeing better growth on my LPS corals. My green frogspawn has started 2 new heads at once! I also like the fact that I don't have to dose anything, and when the time comes when I do, i'll probably only need to use kalkwasser.

reef crystals always formed a brown slime in my brute container. After switching to red sea, no more slime.
no more cleaning the brute can after every water change. considering they are around the same price. red sea>>>>>>> reef crystal (imho)

Awesome, thanks everyone! Looks like I'll be switching when I'm done with my bucket of reef crystals.

I just picked up 2 200gal boxes of Reef Crystals to start cycling my 220Gal tank.
I may just take a look at this stuff but don't ever use their water test kits. Well I shouldn't blanket all the tests but I got 2 tests from Red Sea and both sucked. I waited 2 extra months thinking I had ammonia and nitrites wondering how all this stuff was living in my tank(CUC, Anemones, etc.) Had to get API and Salifert which I stick with of course. I got my stuff from TBS and he sent me the Anemones(I know you are not supposed to get the right away) and they are doing great after 7 months. One got chopped from my water pump during a water change and has grown back better than it looked prior. Anyway yeah I will see the local costs of that salt |

I use Reef Crystals, have been using it for years. It does form a brown funk in the bucket, and every now and then I clean the bucket because of it, but it works well for my tank regardless, so I keep using it.
