Powerhead Question

I found 4 used Hydor Koralia Evolution 1400 GPH Power Head's on my local craigslist for $30 a piece. My question is will this/these units make too strong of a current for a 46 bow front if I bought two? One?

Unless you are heavy into SPS I'd say so IMO. Others will probably disagree. I'd look for two in the 750 - 900 gph range.

I agree, even one would probably blow all your corals too much. I think one 750 would be plenty. If you wanted more you could always get another.

What livestock are in your tank?

I have two 750s at opposite diagonal corners and one 1050 on a wavemaker angled downward behind the rocks in my 50 gallon breeder. Makes for some moderate currents at the sides and turbulent strong flow in the middle.

The 1050 can move a lot of water so one or more 1400s would probably be overkill.

Ok, thanks for the advice guys! Lakemonster, i just bought a tank and havent set it up yet because I'm waiting until I go back up to school to set it up. I really havent thought too much about any corals but most likely the most hardy and easiest to keep will be the only ones I go with as this will be my first setup
