Aiptasia in Coral
I have recently noticed an aiptasia growing inside my green star polyps. Today I noticed it has gotten bigger. Is there anyway I can kill it with harming the coral. Bought 2 peppermint shrimp 3 days ago and havn't seen either one of them since 5 mins after I put them in the tank. Thanks!!

I have the same problem. One growing in my green clove polyps, one growing under a colony of zoas stinging it from the bottom, and one even growing out of the side of my leather.

you couldn't harm green star polyps if you tried lol.
seriously though just squirt some aiptasia-x or whatever else you prefer to use right into its mouth and it should be gone without hurting the gsp. I have a couple of aiptasia growing in between a zoa colony and they keep growing back in the same area. i smother them with aiptasia-x and some of it goes on my zoas, but the zoas seem to survive through it, as long as they don't get any in their mouths (the zoas i mean). |
