Help increasing water pressure

My Newly set up RO unit isn't working very good I'm getting 60 ppm out from 78 ppm in. My pressure is only reading about 35-40 psi sometimes lower but it bounces back and forth. My filters aren't clogged because there brand new so yes It's probably a low pressure problem. My question is I was wondering if I make my inlet hose the same diameter if it would raise the psi? Right now because my faucet adaptor was 1/4 connection I had to use 1/4 hose, but my RO units inlet hose is 3/8 so I got a 1/4 to 3/8 pressure fitting connector from home depot and connected the two hoses. So what I was gonna do was get a 3/8 faucet adaptor and run the 3/8 hose the whole way. Would this make a difference in psi do you think?

You really need to buy a pressure pump.

You cannot change the pressure by changing the line size

you def need a pressure increase via pump. however just for the record while increasing the line size you will not increase the pressure. smaller line sizes reduce presure under flow conditions. comes down to friction mostly.

anyway, buy a small inline pump to bring the pressure up. the other thing that helps is temp. water should be around 78 degrees. so you can try storing some water warming it up and pumping it through the rodi unit.

however DO NOT use your hot water line from your house. it will destroy the rodi system

I have a 5 stage RODI system and my home water pressure is often the same range as yours. I get 0 tds in and out. I am thinking about getting the booster to get a higher GPD out of it. So there may be something else going on. Are you saying your tds is 60 out of your RODI? What is your water source?
