ballast problem
what happens when you try a 400w halide with a 400w mercury vapour ballast?

Never heard of a 400 watt Mercury Vapor Ballast? Are talking about Hi Pressure Sodium? If it is don't. Mecury vapor fixtures are banned due to the government regulations, T12 lamps will be banned I think next year.

absolutly 100% merc vapour ballast ( in the uk )

Well here is what I know about 175w Mercury Vapor that was sold here in the US. They quit making them because they where very inefficient. 175w actually drew 600 watts.
