Sedra 700 pump not working right
I have a Sedra 700 mag drive style pump. When turning the pump on, it would always delay 10-20 seconds before pump action would kick in. Now, the only way pump action actually starts is if I let the intake get a little air in it..then pump action starts and I can fully submerge the pump. When I open up the pump, the impeller looks ok..but before pump action starts, it sounds like it just kind of rattles around. Any ideas? Do I need a new impeller? Why does sucking that little bit of air get the pump action started? If it is fully submerged, pump action won't start. Any help appreciated.
