Why no ATI mounting legs?

Why do you think ATI doesnt put out mounting legs for their fixtures.
strange

I actually contacted them last week about this and I was told that there are no plans at this time to incorporate mounting legs into their designs. I was holding out hope that there was a better option than the TEK Elite for those who must have legs, but no such luck.

Because I own one, I can say that I can't imagine actually having such a fixture ON legs. It would be too close tot he water surface and thus too bright, and too difficult to get into the tank with anything. It's so much easier to hang it...either from the celing or from a DIY (or bought) hanging set up bulit from some kind of tubing. They are nicer because they don't have to sit on the tank...

I concur. With the grip lock system it makes lowering/raising the light rack really easy.
If you really wanted legs, you could DIY them out of 80/20.net aluminum.

I think 10" tall legs would look extremely funny too.

No way you could ever use an ATI on legs IMO. I have seen some people do it but you have no control over height. With the new dimmable models it wouldn't be an issue however.

Now that I have hung a light compared to a tank mount, I really don't like tank mounted systems. They get in the way of EVERYTHING.

I built a shelf about 2 feet above the tank and hung the fixture from there. Very simple. Easy to raise and lower.
