Bulkhead Fittings for 1.75 drain and 1.5" return
Hello Everyone.
Currently frustrated. ![]() ![]() Equipment 120 Gallon All Glass Aquarium (bought it used, did not have the plumbing kit. The aquarium is 48 x 24 x 24) 30 Gallon tank (will be used as a sump) Gen-X PCX-40 Mak4 Aquarium Pump 1190 GPH (external return pump. The 120 gallon aquarium has 2 drains where the actual diameter of the hole is 1.75 inches, and 2 returns where the hole is 1.5 inches. What size bulkhead fittings do I need to use? Once again I would like to run a durso standpipe that is about 24 inches tall (comes to the top of the aquarium just like in the write up for DIY Durso standpipes.) What size standpipe should I use? I know you can't get frustrated in this hobby or you will mess things up bad, but I am frustrated that no one carries these fittings. Any help would be appreciated!!! |

A 1" bulkhead from BRS requires a 1.65" hole... that would work fine in your 1.75" hole
The .75" bulkheads require a 1.33 again, probably totally safe with your 1.5" hole

Thanks. After alot of wasted time I found a pet store that had exactly 4 in stock so I bought them. Ended up being a 1" and a .75". Last night I built 2 durso's for the drain. I just need to design my plumbing underneath and the return.
