long white/clear stringy stool
Hey guys,
I purchased my first fish 6 days ago from a lfs. I got two tank raised ocellaris clowns. One is slightly bigger than the other but they are both fairly small (approx 1 1/4in-1 1/2in). Both fish are very active in the tank and usually stick next to each other. I've noticed that the smaller one has a very stringy white or clear stool. Is this normal or should I be worried about a parasite or infection? The larger one has a brown stool, which I would consider to be normal. I've been feeding them 3x a day. For every 6 meals I feed them 1 meal of frozen brine shrimp and 5 meals of New Era Marine Pellets. I've noticed that the smaller fish goes crazy when the brine shrimp goes in the tank and eats as much as possible. When I put pellets in, the smaller one might eat one or two. The larger fish eats both. I also noticed a couple days ago that the smaller fish looked really bloated. However, that looks like it has gone down. (maybe ate too much brine shrimp?) Any help would be appreciated. Could the white/clear stool just be because he is eating way more of the shrimp then the pellets? Thanks, Brandon. |

Probably due to initial stress from being introduced to a new environment. I'd give it some time, will probably go away once it settles in to its new surroundings.
