I just got a used one with a new ballast (old one lost when they moved) for a couple hours work on a club members electric wiring. I put it over my 85g anemone tank to replace a very old PC light. It works fine and being able to put different lights and fans on different timers is a nice feature.
I haven't looked at prices, so I can't help there. But then I rarely buy anything for my system new anymore. Used stuff in my local club and on Craigslist is so plentiful and so cheap!
