Clown fish eggs going to hatch tonight *video*

Their eyes are super shiny so tonight is the night. Mom and pop false perc's have been laying eggs together about every 2.5-3 weeks since 2001. Sometimes I take for granted how unique this process is. Hope you enjoy the short video.

Oh my gosh I didn't notice the Starry made a cameo lol. He's such a cute bugger, such a great face and cute little pom poms.

That is an awesome sight. I have a pair of black and white occellaris, at what "age" do they usually start spawning?

Good question, mine were probably a year old when they paired up, but they fought like devils until one day i woke up and looked in the tank and they were swimming together in the same large toadstool coral

Yes they did, as usual I didn't see a single one

There are already new eggs about a week old (still pinkish, can't see the babies yet).

Thats awesome man, did you do anything to encourage the spawning or did it just happen all on its own?

Best of luck!

Thanks!

Nature always finds a way It's been happening for something like 7 or 8 years now with these 2 false perc's and I didn't do anything to help them along. I also have to admit during the near decade of having a reef, my water chemistry sometimes slipped into the dark unknown for months at a time, but they kept makin babies. I'm back to a routine of water changes, but for a while there I wasn't religious about it.

They lay eggs on the rock just below the toadstool coral they hang out in.
