20 gallon nano reef ideas

so im thinking about making a 20 gallon nano tank for a pair of naked clownfish and a pair of cleaner shrimp. Im going to start with some dry rock and 25 pounds of dry sand, i think im going to use cycle to get it started. no skimmer and around 25x turnover for pumps. so what do u think i should use for filtration natural or a hob. O and im going to have a bubble tip anemone and thats it for corals

so the main question is what filtration to use

Are you using a sump of any kind? I will tag along as I have a 20 gallon just sitting in front of me.

Yeah, if I was you, I'd try and incorporate a sump if at all possible. If not, just toss a good ole hob filter on there with some carbon and a filter sock/pad if you can fit one. Just to polish up your tank a bit. But other than that, use your lr, and wc's do the filtration/cleaning.

Good luck

as far as hob filters go i prefer the hagen aquaclears and substitute their carbon packs with a chemipure elite( only need to be changed every6 months and help with phophate control) i would also put some macro in their for extra filtation i just ordered about 50 snails plus ulva chaeto mangroves gracielaera and 2 others i cant remember for 50 with free shipping ( flame algae and gracielera are quite attractive too..)
although once you see how much a skimmer pulls out youll want to get one and you could get one for the same 50$ i had one on my 29 g i used to have i think it was 30 and worked rgeat for two years until i upgraded tanks(mi believe it was a tom or rio but cant remember)
