Do I need a chiller?

How can I cool my tank more without buying a chiller my temp runs about 81.5 degrees I want to keep it about 78. I used all LED even to light my fuge, I use Vortechs for circualtion, and an ATB flow star 1800 for return, and a Alpha 170 skimmer. So that's everything in the tank that generates heat, I have a big fan blowing on the sump and thee fans cooling the LEDs and heatsinks which are closed in a canopy.

My wife likes to keep the house cold so she has the thermostat set at 72-75.

Seems to me like your tank should be running cooler. What type of thermometer are you using? Can it be calibrated? My tank runs at 78-80 with mag 5 return, 2 korilia power heads, Atman 2000 skimmer pump, reactor pump and 250w MH all with my house temp at 77-78. A FAn over the tank will help.

Clamp-on fan over sump or aquarium.
