I actually have the ASM G-2 on one of my tanks. I definitely recommend a pump upgrade. It skimmed OK as it was, but not amazing by any means, once I did the pump upgrade it skimmed MUCH better. Overall, no complains from me!

Ok thanks for the heads up. Is there a site that has skimmer reviews like real ones?
Like how sites compare TVs? Or nothing like that out there. |

my old G3 (with mods) is still going strong and can't complain for my 145G but thinking would but under-sized for a 200g unless you're planning a light load.

just upgrade the pump with the next sized sedra pump in the G line ( G4 or G4x) i believe its a sedra 12000 or 9000.

I had the G6 on my 900 gallon system and it was incredible. I recommend the ASM skimmers all the way.

We support a 1300 Gallon SPS reef system off two G5s. They perform well but have junky parts. If you decide to go with one, just be careful because some of the plastic parts are flimsy. If all that matters is performance to you, go ahead! Oh, and about the upgraded pump, definitely do that. One of our G2's on another system has a pump issue and the Venturi spews out air bubbles out the top of the pump.
