Question anemone

i don't know if this post is allowed, but if it isn't i'll try to erase it. i am wondering if there is anyone out there who has an anemone they would like to sell/give away. i bought two anemones, and they are doing fine except for one thing. one of my clownfish pairs have slpit up and each one occupies an anemone. i have a 125 so the anemone will not be in a bad position. no anti anemone fish, and my newly paired clownfish need a place to be, because they can't get near the other clownfish anemones. have a reef tank. please, if there is anyone out there respond. i feed once a week with chemicals and with shrimp. can't go out too far out of palatine, only about a half hour out of palatine. please pm. clownfish needs a home.

If I am reading this right, you have more then one pair of clowns in this tank? Adding another anemone isn't going to fix things, and IMO/E just make things worse. Once one of those pairs start spawning the odds are high that they will take out the other pair.

BTW -- how do you fed an anemone with chemicals? And from reading your other posts, adding another anemone to your tank wouldn't be wise regardless of the clowns. Worry about the existing dyed H. Crispa, and slow down a bit.

the tentacles of the sebae have gotten longer, and it seems to be turning a bit darker. loosing that yellow, but its turning white. neither of the anemones have been getting worse. the lta has gotten itself on a spot up on the rocks near the light,a dn it is doing great. i think that the saddleback clownfish separated. they no longer share an anemone, and the female is aggressive towards the male once in a while. i add iodine, strontium and molybdenum, and phytoplex when required. every monday i add feed them frozen brine shrimp. before one of the clownfish died, but i got a smaller one to mate with the one that survived and they appear to have become a pair.

An LTA, M. doreensis, is a sand bed dwelling anemone -- if it is up on the rocks, there is something wrong.
It is way too soon to judge if the H. Crispa is going to recover or not.
IMO, having a 3rd (( and perhaps a different species )) anemone would be a bad idea.

how do you know when those are required? If you do regular water changes there is no need for the first 3. As for the phytoplex, what else do you have in your tank? -- no point in using that for the anemones.

Fishyfish, are you still using only the VHO's or have you gotten stronger lighting?

no point for those chemicals, stop wasting your money on those and save up for some other more important equipment upgrades. brine shrimp is also very poor in nutrients for fish and corals alike. start using mysis and or rods food and ditch the brine. why did you lose one of the clowns? please do more research using this forum and the WWW.

Why do you say those chemicals have no point? I've been dosing things like calcium, iodide, etc for a long time now.

and yes, agreed Research, research and more research is key.

you dont need to dose iodine, strontium and molybdenum. its in the saltmix. just add calcium, alk, and mag and you got a reef pie.

wow, i didn't know that. ive been dosing iodine and strontium and molybdenum for a long time. I'm using Coralife salt right now. I've always tested and my numbers have been in the correct range. I've also been using the calcium, pro dkh buffer, and tech m mag though. so i'm glad i had the important stuff as well.
