Stores in DFW worth going to.

Hey guys I'm down in Texas for a week and looking for some stores worth goin to. I just went to that fish place and i was not impressed with the marine tanks but I was impressed with the cichlid tanks. As I am doing saltwater now that doesn't really matter anymore. So people please chime in.

True Percula, Dallas North Aquarium, Frank's.

DNA is more like a Walmart but looks impressive.

When I'm in Dallas and get the chance, I stop by Fish Gallery/Aquarium Environments on Greenville Avenue at Park Lane (couple of blocks off Central Expressway) and Dallas North Aquarium in Carrollton on Trinity Mills Road (a couple of blocks off the Tollway).

Also, the DFW Marine Aquarium Society has its monthly meeting on the 14th where they'll have a recap of MACNA and other stuff. Quite a few of their members post on here and have some bombad tanks. Everything's bigger in Texas, right?

My plan is to visit some of these stores during the week and then stop by on my way out of Texas. I plan to buy. One of my reef members said all the stores down here were super expensive. I'm not trying to spend 200 on a frag or on a colony. Not trying to have my wallet raped.

Go to DFWMAS org and there is a link to all the stores in the DFW area. Price will very big time from store to store. DNA or Dallas North is probably the most expensive but one of the nicest when it comes to displays, selection is ok. On the more north Dallas side of town Neptune’s Cove has a nice selection and nice prices, but appearance wise is 100% opposite of DNA.

Well, not sure where you'll be, but if you want a large selection of fish and corals and good prices, we go to Fish Paradise in Fort Worth. It's the only place we buy livestock and corals (other than corals at DFWMAS frag swaps).

Don't know for sure if DWA has behind the scenes tours, but it's worth going there for sure regardless.

The aquarium at Grapevine mall is all touch-tank type stuff for kids, no corals as of yet from what I hear of the few who have been.
