coral advice appreciated
hey everyone. i have a 90 gallong with t5 lighting that i have no problem keeping softies and lps. havent tried sps.
my question is i just got a nano cube with the Power compact lighting and the led moonlights. do we think its possible to keep any corals under these lights. im thinking it might be able to since the tank is so shallow and the lights are very bright. i would love to be able to add some nice color to the tank. |

PC's will maintain softies and LPS. But dont expect the same coloring or growth that your T5's will exhibit.

Yep, PC's are great for softies and LPS. Even some SPS, like montipora can do well under PC's.

I would recommend going with some palys or zoas so you can get use to coral needs.

I have a Biocube 29 with the Nanotuners 4.36 mod and I grow and color SPS's just fine. Among others, my ORA Red Planet and Pearlberry are the right colors (being hard SPS's to color up) and growing. I also have Tri-color Validas, Purple Staghorn, Ice Tort Acro, Purple Digitata... They all thrive in color and growth. Just keep up with your skimming, lighting, dosing and water changes and it should work out fine.
Check my pictures in the link below... Sorry for the resolution but pictures were taken from my IPhone Camera. Still and all, you can appreciate some of the colors and growth. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2044993

Lol! No LED's in my Biocube... Just the 4.36 upgrade.
As a matter of fact, the only thing I dislike about the mod is that the LED's (moonlights) are moved towards the back and no longer on the center of the tank.... Then again, after months of reading, I'm ready to add 2 more LED's towards the front to make the tank look good under moons once again. As for the rest, I'm very happy with my PC's! sponger0... Thanks for the compliments!
