any body with knowledge on the tunze waveboxes???

im looking to put a Tunze Nano Wave Box 6206 on a 120g, but not to familiar with them. do they have to be placed in a corner, or can it go in the center of the tank? and are they placed on the bottom near the sand bed, or up top near the water line. also are they controllable, if not for gph, possible tune the wave height ???

one more question. are other pumps needed in the aquarium with a wavebox...

any help would be great, thanx....

Try roger at the Tunze forum but from what I have seen the boxes are at the top of the water, placement is is trial and error but I have seen them in the corner. I believe that Roger is at Macna this weekend

they need to be placed so the top of the box stays out of the water to allow air to get in and out

+1

And yes, they are controlable and can be install anywere in the tank.

Wavebox is an extra, you still need at least 2 water pump in the tank.

Wavebox provides rocking back and forth water motion. I'm not sure the nano will generate a significant wave in a 120. Generally on one side or the other facing the direction you want the wave. Is not usually enough flow by itself. But creates a pulsing wave you can't get otherwise. Very cool. Tends to make overflows noisy as water level in overflow changes constantly. Less noticeable w center overflows. Really bad with corner overflows
