What is this?
When I was at my LFS, I was browsing their liverock (they were just about out and got a new batch in last weekend) to see if there was a piece that would fill an application I had when I saw this growing on a piece. It isn't the first one I have seen here, but I don't know what it is, I'm thinking aiptasia.
Note, i didn't buy any rock from them today :-D.

Looks like aiptasia, I would definitely find a new place to get some rock or be prepared to fight them off for a long time..
Glad you saw this before buying any rock

I wouldn't totally count the lfs out for having live rock with aiptasia, aiptasia anemones will hitchhike on live rock no matter what...my recommendation is, to cook all your live rock or even quarantine it (throw some peppermint shrimp in with your quarantined live rock) and they will either take care of the aiptasia or if you have any mantis shrimp, you'll know real quick because they peppermints will start coming up missing...

If the peppermints are like mine, you won't know they're gone lol! My peppermints got rid of all the aiptasia in my 125 DT in a few days(the stuff was growing almost everywhere). QTing the live rock however sounds like a good idea...

I didn't buy any live rock lately (the few pieces I did buy apparently were clean though). If I do find another piece I like from them, I will def qt

I would look into dry rock from marcorocks or brs. Much cheaper and most likely better rock. It will look the same or better than rock from the lfs in a few months.
