glass tops
I know the question of glass tops has been asked and answered a number of times and I know that going with a screen is the better choice. I cannot got with a screen top, I have two toddlers and need something far more secure (just to be safe).
I was not planning on using glass, but a plastic product like lexan or optix. Does anyone know if these products block the light in anyway, they are clear just like glass, but considerably stronger. Also would it be better if I drilled small holes in the tops to help with gas exchange, I do not have a sump? I am open to other suggestions. This tank will need a top of some sort as I plan on housing fish that like to jump, and for some reason, this is the only tank in the house the kids are focused on. |

optix actually lets more light through then glass does. You should be fine.

Awesome, that is what I will use then. Any thoughts about drilling holes in it? Is it necessary, how many would I need?
