Stocking Order
Hello Fellow Reefers,
Just a quick question for you regarding initial stocking order. After a cycle has completed and your CUC have done their great work, is there a consensus on stocking Fish vs. Coral first? (I know for either the key is start small and add SLOW)... If coral: do you add 1-2 mini-frags first, or can you add a few different tiny frags initially since they're so small. Or, if fish: can I add a pair rather than a single as my initial inhabitant? (My eventual plan calls for a pair of ocellaris, but I wasn't sure if I should add one now and wait to add the other until my tank matures a bit. Thanks in advance for any replies! *Tank Info- 75g DT, 30g sump/fuge, Mag 9.5 return, SWC Extreme 160 Cone Skimmer, 2 Koralia Evo 1400's, 75lbs Pukani LR. Water- Amm/Nit 0's for 2 weeks, Nitrates ~7, 8.15 ph |

Corals add little to no waste to a tank, so you can add several at a time. With your 75 gallon tank you will be fine adding two fish at a time. Wait a week or two between future additions to allow your system to adjust to the new bio-load. It is best to add the least aggressive (timid) fish first and work your way up to the most aggressive fish. With the clowns I would add them at the same time and if possible make it a mated pair.
