Calcium at 600?
Thought id run through my test kits today when i got home and my calcium is way out of whack. I tested it twice with my red sea kit and its at 600! Im gonna retest it tomorrow with a buddies kit to see if mine is bad.
Is there a way to lower it? heres the other parameters just in case: temp-76.5 alk- 7 ph-8.0 ammonia-0 nitrite-0 p04-0 CALCIUM- 600!!!

600 is very high but not a terrible concern. Stop dosing your two part or however you deliver ca to your system and continue to dose your alk. The numbers will even out as alk and ca are in a constant dance with each other each pulling or pushing on the other. Test more often than usual and you will be fine. If it is a worry to you, for your peace of mind you can do a decent size water change to try and bring it down more quickly.

As long as it doesn't look like it's snowing in your tank I would'nt worry about it and just let the Ca get depleted naturally until it reaches an acceptable range like 450 and maintain it there. I know some people that don't even test and just "let it ride" in between W.C.s So it is good that you are aware of what is going on in your tank by testing.

Had the same issue about a month ago. I was adding a cal supp. to my ATO.
I stopped the supp and did a WC every other day for a total of 50% Every thing was fine. Except I thing my Long Ten. Plate Coral dieed because of the high cal. I dont know that for sure. But I suspect it had something to do with it |

I'm not sure why but, my calcium has always been too high to measure. Multiple test kits, same results.

I would worry about low alk due to the high Ca. If the alk tests fine then stop dosing Ca and monitor alk wild Ca goes down. Also check your new saltwater to make sure you didn't get a batch with high Ca... Most probably it'll endup being a bad testkit reading.

i actually add a small bit of kalk to my ato but i stopped doing that about a month ago and its still high!
i also think my alk is a bit low. maybe i'll just start adding my alk buffer. what about adding just my alk two part? that sounds like a plan lol
