Snail ID- caught in Florida
I collected this snail around Jupiter, FL. It was out on the reef and there were several of them around. Sizes ranged from quarter to golf ball-sized. The overall shape is similar to an astrea with a banding pattern on the lower half of the shell. Anybody know what it is and if it's safe? Right now it is in a quarantine tank.

As far as I know, banded trochus snails are from the Pacific. Thanks for the suggestions, any other ideas?

What kind of turbo snail? Isn't that just a genus of snails? Anybody know what species this might be?

American Carrier Snail ( xenophora conchyliophora ). Not terribly uncommon in Florida, you'll find shells on the beach, at least on the west coast. Didn't know they ran all the way to Jupiter though. Over here they get pretty big too.

Looks like a turbo to me. There are a bunch of different snails all under the common name of Turbo. I see those alot at Jupiter when I am there. Love that place. It should be reef safe, just keep an eye on it. I see them on algae patches.

Still have not been able to get a positive ID. Went in the tank a few days ago and haven't had any issues. I would love to know exactly what they are though.
