which tang for this size tank

i was planning on building a 40 long x24 wide x20 high.can i put a tang in this.and which one could i get.thanks for ur replies.the tank is around 83 gallons.

That footprint does give a lot of swimming area, but I would still stick with a bristletooth tang variety, like a Tomini or similar.

none would be my suggestion...once you take in account rock and corals in there...i dont think a scopas or two spot bristletooth would even be happy

Marginal for small bristletooth, but I personally would not do it.

Just by comparison I have a 48 x 24 x 25 and the only tang I am putting in is a tomini, but I also considered a kole eye. All others would likely get too big.

A Convict Tang would fit in that tank but that would have to be the only tang.
