Return Pump Question
I have a 75 gal tank using a Danner Mag Drive 12 as the return pump. I'm considering going to an external pump to minimize heat & the possibility of fluid leakage. If you're having success with a particular external pump that's "quiet" please let me know. Thanks!

Most external pumps are going to have a noise issue. Have you tried isolating the return pump a little using nylon hoses? If your all PVC it might help to exchange a section of the PVC that connects to pump with a nylon hose. If not I use a rio 3100 pump for my return and it's dead silent. Have had it for 2 years and not one issue. Mine also has about 8" of nylon hose connected to the PVC to help minimize vibration.
Sent from my who cares they all do it now.
