Bubble tip coral

The search is still not working for me so I will ask.

Is there such a thing as bubble tip coral? The wife just called and said she seen something listed at a local pet shop as bubble tip coral. I did a google search and almost everything that came up was listed as a bubble tip anemone.

Kinda confused.

The problem is the word "tip". Take it out and do a search on "Bubble Coral". It is an LPS and relatively easy to care for.

I have a good size green one. They are kind of scary, when the lights go out, the bubbles shrink down to almost nothing, a lot of skeleton shows and they put out some 2-3" sweeper tentacles. Medium speed growth but very hard to frag.

While a clown may decide to give it a try, the coral wouldn't last long. Bubble corals are too fragile for a clown's rough poking and prodding.

That's what it looks like just not as full.

Correct. Bubble corals have a sharp skeleton that can seriously damage them if they're handled roughly. Anemones have no skeleton and so they're more tolerant of a clown's attention. Clowns tend to be a little rough with their surroundings. Soft corals and 'nems do fine because you can poke and prod them quite a bit without seriously damaging them. Hard corals are more likely to be harmed.

My clown lives in a little mushroom-filled cave and is constantly flattening the 'shrooms against the rocks and biting the edges to keep them from covering part of the cave opening. The mushrooms don't like it, but it doesn't harm them because of their flexibility.
