hippo tang question

3 weeks ago I purchased a small hippo tang been doing great in tank with 3 other same size fish. Lately he slides under green nepthia coral and stays there all day comes out to eat and then goes back. I can see his tail sticking out. Nobody was stressing him if anything he chased a small goby into hiding. I know they like to hide but is this normal and why do they do it?

What size tank? Water parameters? Other tank inhabitants?

It's sad that I keep reading this stuff over and over again. People are savvy enough to post on RC AFTER they purchase a Hippo, PBT, or Achilles Tang, but somehow they are not savvy enough to ask in advance if the tang should be placed there in the first place. I have 30 fish on my "wish list". After being on RC for the past two years, I have crossed ofter more than 10 as not being appropriate for my 90g tank. I haven't restarted my tank yet. I just wish others would take the time to research in advance rather than seeking help afterwards. I hope the OP re-homes his tang ASAP.
