Looks good so far. I'm about two weeks ahead of you.
Right now I have the same LED bulbs that you put in, but instead of a splash guard I just sprayed them with a clear coat, along with the metal screen on the top so it won't rust. I've just ordered these lamps to try though, since they have more LEDs on them and it looks like they will spread the light better (I used one for the dome light in my truck and it is bright!) http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-Smd-LED-U...item415918f85a This is the blue LED I'm using, it stays on 24/7. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001683YZI Before my live rock arrived I was really going for a minimalist feng shui look, with a nice little rock wall separating the area where a small stack of rock would go behind it in the corner: But eventually I decided that function was more important than form, so I ditched it and just placed the rock in (critters would have made a mess of it anyway). My cycle is just finishing, so I'll get my first few bits of livestock this weekend. Didn't mean to hijack, but just saw we were running parallel so I thought I'd share mine. I'm curious to see how yours comes along as well!

Thanks for the input. That led looks good, you plan on using the board and the bulbs or just the boards? I was thinking of adding two more bulbs to make a total of 4 bulbs but i might be tight on space. What about flow, have anything planned or hidden that i dont see in your pics?

I ordered a Hydor Pico pump with only 70gph http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AVDQO0, but the first one was defective so I am waiting for the replacement to arrive. I also ordered a Koralia Nano 240 to try. I've really liked the Koralias in the past, but didn't know if it would be too much in this little tank. I'll update with more pics once I get the LED boards on.

On the hydor pico, you plan on switching out the original pump or adding that one? I was thinking of picking one up but figured that there wasnt much spread on the flow.

Adding it. The new one arrived this afternoon so I'll get it installed after work tomorrow and let you know how it goes.

The little Hydor Pico isn't enough. My wife stole the new Korilia 240 for her biocube, but it would probably do well if you are putting in any moderate-high flow corals in your edge.
I still think the 240 will be too much for my needs so I'm going to try the pico 180.

Put in some extra sockets, had to make sure they were spaced out just enough
Then for the hood I originally ordered a strip of leds but got these. Guess you could saythey are a "strip" . Either way mde em work and lined the sides with reflective a/c tape which I got from a bud(erick001ace or something like that) |

markdiego, are the MR12 LEDs you're using the Fluval 10000k ones? They look very blue (and really cool).
Did you drill the plastic to install the other plugs? How close to the water do they get? Great build. |

Thanks thebanker. The bulbs are mr11's from led wholesalers. My cell phone makes em look blue but they are really super bright white, the description says they range 5000-6500k. You can take apart the light arm, has screws underneath it. Drilled two holes and wired it to the existing connection. The transformer can handle it. The hood i did wire to a seperate plug. I made a lil splash guard so the bulbs dont get wet at all.
