The lime green color is probably a film type algae that can be taken care of by a clean up crew of snails & hermit crabs.

I've seen what looks like coraline algae (in it's form and hardness) and is bright, light green in color. I have a few small rocks that have it.

I have a bunch of lime green on my rock (was originally dry rock and i seeded it with live rock). It wouldn't scrub off no matter waht I did so i figured it was ok, over time it is changing to pink so its leaving me to believe that the lime green is form of coraline or the beginning stage of it. Either way, i like how it looks and it isn't a problem.

It depends on your point of view. It is not bad for the tank, it's about how it looks. Most people like the look, a few people don't. I like coraline algae myself, I think it's pretty, and I have it all over the back glass and rocks in multiple colors.

When you look at the side of my tank directly, it's purple. When you look at it on the pitch, it's lime green. No worries. It's just part of the process.
