sunpod light

New to the forum. This place is great. I have a 29 gal fish only tank. 1 clown 3 blue yellow damsels. No live rock. A friend at work intruduced me to the forum. He also gave me a kenya tree frag for my tank. I told him I didnt think it would live with my single 24 inch t8 17 watt 50/50 bulb. I have had it in since friday morning. And suprisingly it is now standing straight up. So I was thinking of upgrading my lighting and getting some live rock. I found a used for 6 months 150 Watt Sunpod Aquarium light fixture 30 inch for $100 It seems like a decent light for the price. I think they are discontinued. Just looking to get some input on the light. Thanks

I have a 20" 150W that will be used shortly. I've got a 16" 70W set up and I love it so far. Runs as hot as halides should, but I think it does great.
Welcome to the forum! It's good to see ppl from IL

I used the 250 watt version over a 29 and than a 33 cube -- think you would be fine using the 150 over a 29, though the edges might be a bit darker.

Thanks for the input guys. The only bad thing I heard about the light is the fans were loud.

I can't speak for the 150 watt versions, but the fans on the 250 watt units weren't loud -- however the fans for the external ballasts are sometimes loud, it seems to vary from ballast to ballast.
