My Algae Turf Scrubber

I have created my ATS from a 29g sump tank threw the wall from my 55 gal tank. Thankfully there is the furnace room directly behind the DT. I have recently added a float valve auto top off hooked up to a 5 gal bucket. When I first started up my pumps, the baffles broke free so I've been running them without them. There is little to no micro bubbles so I've been going with it. I have cleaned off the turf screen twice now of dark high nutirents.

yes it splashes a bit. I've added splash gaurds up top to help around the lights. There is a metal pin that goes threw the float valve, but is out of the water.

I believe "hawaiian_boi" is talking about the check valve on your return line, right behind your tank. Typically the white PVC check valves have a metal spring inside. I would swap it out for a 100% plastic valve.

Really there should be no need for any check valves. Your sump should be able to handle the extra water when the power to your return pump is cut off. Check valves can fail, especially in salt water.

Other than that your ATS looks good.
