tangs in a 80 gallon
what type of tangs can i put into an 80 gallon? i don't want to hear "oh the tank is too small" kind of crap. since when do prisoners die 'cause they're prison cell is too small?.. i just want to know what type of tangs can get along. i was thinking of a purple tang. what other types of tangs can i put in? again im very happy in my tiny house. so none of that!

Well your mindset and attitude aren't going to make any supporters here. Prisoners get let out of their prison cell, are you going to take your fish out once a day to the ocean and let them swim around for a while and then bring the back to their "cell"?
I guess I will say it even though you don't want to hear it, your tank IS too small. But if you really want to push it you need to look at a tang that stays small. A yellow maybe. Possibly a bristletooth of some type, maybe Tomini. And definitely only one, NO more than that. |

This could turn ugly! And yes no prisoner died from being in a cell too small, but put a fish in a tank too small and you run the risk of stressing it out and leading it to getting ich or something and dieing. |

Yeah the porblem is that the fish will stress hard in a tank that is to small, which will lead to getting ick and then die. If the tank is to small for the tang he's not gonna be happy and an unhappy tang always gets ick.

Purple tang should be fine or others in that same family, such as Yellow tang.
Best

Sounds like you just want someone to tell you what you want to hear.
To use your same prisoner analogy, they get let out of those cells at times every day. Put 6 prisoners (or anyone) in a tiny cell and never let them out and what do you think is going to happen? It's not going to be pretty. Putting tangs in a tank to small is going asking for them to be very unhappy and aggressive towards others in there if nothing else. |
