Quick T5 question please

hey..

I have a 24" hood with four 24W bulbs in it. "Sea World" is the brand of bulbs.

They are now about eight months old and was wondering if I can put API bulbs in it? Will it make a difference on the color/health of my corals?

I was planning on getting:

(2) Aquablue 12K
(2) Blue+

ATI? Yes, they are way better than "sea world".

I would drop an aquuablue for a purple plus.

I'd do 3 ATI Blue Plus and 1 KZ Fiji Purple. I think it looks best in this order imo.

1. Blue
2. Blue
3. Purple
4. Blue

Yes ATI* sorry.

So rtparty, youd suggest,

2-Blue+
1-Purple+
1-Aquablue

Are the blue+ like actinics?

Or ...

2- ATI Blue+
1- KZ New Generation bulb 14K
1- ATI purple+

Does that sound better?

How long will these last before I have to replace them again?

Thanks!

Also,

I know these are going to have a lot more par than the bulbs I have now so I was going to change out one bulb every 3 days.

So It will take 12 days to fully change them out. Does this sound right or should it take longer?

The Blue Plus bulbs are BLUE. They have a bunch of actinic in them but a lot more PAR.

Yes, that is what I would run for 4 bulbs. If your fixture is being cooled with a fan or two, you can go 10-12 months between replacing bulbs. If there is no cooling from a fan, plan on replacing bulbs every 7-8 months.

That is a good plan. Maybe even go every 4-5 days just to be safe.
