Freak snowstorm :(
lost power last night and by the time i got the heater and power head hooked up to a power inverter i got for my car, the tank temp was at 60.2 F
so far only lost a snail but also my trumpet coral isnt looking good, two heads on it and the mouths are open much farther than ive ever seen them. is there anything i should do or look for to hopfully stop any other losses? in addition to the livestock in my sig i have a hammer, galaxia and 6 line wrasse. everything but the trumpet is looking well and one dead black foot snail. current temp reading at the time of this post is 71.5 F

Wow, sorry but it sounds like you might fair ok.
Not sure how long it has taken to take the temp from 60 to 71 but don't swing it too fast. No fish in the tank?

We lost power for 3 days here during the Halloween storm.
Just keep the heater and PH going. You can also wrap the tank with blankets to help save gas and give the inverter a break once in a while. Hopefully you'll get power back soon.

Thanks, we got power back last night before i started this thread so thats all good now, i was just wondering if there was anything i should look for in my livestock to see if they are affected by the 8 hours or so of 60 degree temps.
as of this morning everything is looking good, i think the trumpet is coming back good too. the temp is still a little lower than it was before the power issue. 77.5 this morning. i still havent had the water tested but am plannning on an emergency water change tomorrow once some saltwater is mixed.

well if you need it sears sells a good power inverter you can run off your car for $90 that runs 750 watts. it has a wattage readout and i could run both my tanks off of it if i needed. thats the one i went and bought yesterday after the power went out
