Stand options for 90g? Marineland Monterey?

I know many people like to DIY their stands. I just don't know if I feel comfortable doing this. Though I do have a friend that would be willing to help with tools.

I've looked at different stands by different makers. But ya know, they never show photos that count. Like the doors and open space, center braces ect. and LFS are not much help!

So, who makes a nice 90g OPEN front stand? Doors are fine, side panel openings are a plus. No center brace is what I am looking for!

Some have suggested the Monterey Rectangular Stands. They say they don't have center braces. But this is unconfirmed by me. On this note, what are your thoughts with Marineland 90g RR tanks? Seems like the overflow boxes are huge and look like they take up a lot of space.

I am looking at the same tank and stand but having the same problems you are. I can't seem to find out the internal dimensions of the stand to see which sumps will fit.

Most stands don't have rear center braces so you can slide the sump in from the rear. Not fun if the sump breaks and you need to pull the tank away from the wall to replace it (BTDT), but that never is.

I had a 30g long as a sump under my 90g.

I prefer the corner overflow of the Marineland over the Megaflow overflow you get with AGA tanks. They're less obtrusive and make aquascaping much easier than the offset center overflow.

The marineland Newport for the 27g cube I have is open on the back, the front door is hinged to open all the way flat which is nice. It doesn't have a full top so I pried the staples out and dropped my sump in from the top than replaced the top. The stand is sort of short however, like 30inches and the picts of that Montery look really short, my fear would be fitting a tall skimmer in / space to work in the stand due to height.

Is building a stand to your needed specs and liking an option?

If so I would go that route.

Ok after doing some mew digging... It has come to may attention that Aqueon (AGA) Modern Series Stands are 32" high and at least for the 48" stands do not contain a center brace.

http://www.aqueonproducts.com/produc...s-canopies.htm

As also suggested by NewYorkSteelo over on YouTube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQ7CESAqzRY

I sent an e-mail to Aqueon to confirm, but it looks like thats the one folks!

I am actually looking for a 75 gallon stand which is the same as a 90 stand..

I talked to a Aqueon rep and they are not making anything anymore accept the pine stands because its all anyone wants. Store told me that the oak is available in black only and they still have a bunch. The stand is nice but I do not want black and they are really a good price now, mainly because they are getting clearanced.

Aqueon is really making me angry.. They are buying out everyone just to remove the competition and then dumping the good products for their cheap crap. I personally do not want to give them any of my buisness.

I don't think that is their motive, but they have completely ruined the Oceanic brand.
