My JBJ 12g dx quazi-build thread

About two years ago my friend and I embarked in our first saltwater tank build. We had a 26 gallon bow front and the works. About a month ago we split downsized because it got to be too much to move 4 times a year, back and forth from our dorm. I now have a 12g dx that I got about a month ago. I transferred my portions of live rock and sand.

After two weeks I added

3 blue legged crabs
5 nasnarius snails
1 turbo
1 firefish
1 clown
1 small frag of gsp
1 cbs

I had a sea-clown protein skimmer which i took the maxijet 1200 from for an upgraded pump. I also purchased a hydpr flo rotating deflector

I was starting to get a bacteria bloom so i went to the store and purchased chemi pure to add to my filtration. My first chamber from the bottom is: carbon, sponge, cemipure, sponge. I also removed the ceramic and bio balls. When I was at the pet store getting the chemi pure I ended up buying a waving hand anthelia. So now i'm dosing with kent marine iodide supplement.

Over the next month I am planning on getting some mediabaskets poly filter floss to replace the sponges. I also plan to replace the carbon with purigen. Soon i will build media shelving in the second chamber with lighting egg crate.

I'm more than open to comments and plan to post the progression of the tank. Hope you guys enjoy my pictures!
